Pets!

My wife and I used to have quite a collection of creatures; all that was missing was a bird! Now we're down to one real pet.

Peter
Peter is a small Dutch rabbit. He is much smarter than I expected a rabbit to be, but he can be very mischievous! His favorite trick is to start rattling his cage early in the morning, about one hour before the alarm goes off. He doesn't stay in our bedroom anymore. ;^) He is now a free-roaming bun, and is much happier. He's almost perfectly litter-trained. Since he no longer has a cage to rattle, he's come up with some new tricks. In particular, he seems to enjoy biting my toes and digging in my socks. He's also become a bit of a glutton.
The Squirrel
Okay, this one isn't really a pet. "Extortionist" might be a better word. Our furry little "friend" discovered that Boyana had planted 300+ bulbs in the fall, and decided that she must have put them there just for him. The final straw was when we came out one morning, only to see this little monster run away from a freshly dug hole in my wife's flower bed.
"What's that in his mouth? A walnut?"
"No, it's a crocus bulb!"
The obnoxious creature slowly ate it right in front of us. After that, we bought a squirrel feeder. I keep telling Boyana that she's giving in to terrorist demands, but she ignores me. :^)
More recently, the little vermin starting picking the tomatoes off of my one-and-only tomato vine. This means war.
